The Scandal of the Competition for the Hungarian Pavilion in Venice 2007

The recent competition for the Hungarian Pavilion at the Venice Biennial 2007 was marred by procedural irregularities and the failure to abide by the clear decision of the competition jury. The jury selected Csaba Nemes’s project Remake dealing with the public disturbances in Budapest last autumn, only to have their choice overruled by the Ministry of Culture.
